Scott Rush speaks to Channel 9's 60 Minutes program on how he fell in love with a high-flying London banker from his Balinese prison cell.
BALI Nine drug mule Scott Rush and his glamorous British fiancee have spoken out about their unconventional romance, saying they are determined to prove the "sceptics" wrong.
Nikki Butler, a self-described high-flying London banker, has visited Rush in prison five times since February.
In an interview with 60 Minutes, the designer-clad 38-year-old admitted that their relationship had raised eyebrows, but said she was madly in love and wanted to marry the drug smuggler.
"I don't want to be with anyone else," Butler told interviewer Tara Brown. "He's just perfect to me."

They make an odd pairing — her life is more like Sex and the City while he is confined to the "living hell" of Bali's Karangesem jail.

During the interview, the Queensland-born Rush, who had a lengthy battle with heroin, tenderly caressed Butler in his jail cell as he explained why he loved her.

In a bizarre twist, Butler revealed that that pair had actually met in Bali in April 2005, just before Rush was arrested for smuggling heroin.
"We had a lot of fun that day," Butler said, smiling, revealing that she and "the cute Aussie" had spent a booze-soaked afternoon together.

It was then that she decided to throw caution to the wind and visit him in Bali, where their relationship quickly progressed.
"I just didn't ever forget him, " Butler said. "He told me 'you've come along at the right time because I was just about to die.'."

Rush, who has battled depression and describes his time as "mentally degrading" said his relationship had given him hope.
"I get these butterflies in my stomach — she makes me feel like I've never felt before."
Rush said he was the happiest he had ever been in his life but said he was aware there were "lots of sceptics".
"She helps me with money — I don't feel good about taking money from her," he said.
