A US WOMAN made a dramatic escape after she was attacked by five black bears she discovered rooting through the bins in her garage.
The unnamed 45-year-old was dragged out into the driveway by the animals, leaving her with a number of cuts and scrapes to her body.
Miraculously though the woman got away from the bears and ran back into her home and alerted her husband, who called police.
The attack happened in Lake Mary, in Seminole County, Florida. The bears "dragged her from inside the garage out into her driveway," Seminole County Sheriff Pete Brenenstuhl told the local WKMG TV station.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission warned that black bears and their cubs have started moving around in search of food after winter.
"Now is the time to expect bears to show up looking for food," Dave Telesco, the head of the wildlife commission's bear management program, said in an advisory.
